21 women’s groups visited in June and July
Routine visits bring health workers to members’ communities, so women can learn about HIV and ask about services such as cervical cancer screening.
MASYAP made routine visits to 12 support groups in June 2022 and nine in July.
The visits follow up on members’ progress and build their knowledge of HIV/AIDS. Health workers from each community are invited, giving members the chance to ask health questions, such as where to get screened for cervical cancer.
The visits also give the women a sense of belonging. Because MASYAP has created a welcoming, women-friendly environment, members feel free to visit the office for help and counselling whenever they need it.
