Chairladies learn how to protect girls from STIs and early pregnancy
At the quarterly meeting of 37 group leaders, an HIV counsellor from Limbe clinic spoke about the risks girls face in their communities.
MASYAP brings all 37 of its group leaders together every quarter to discuss progress and challenges and to find solutions.
At this women’s chairladies’ meeting, an HIV testing counsellor from Limbe clinic was invited to speak about issues affecting girls. The aim was to help the women leaders understand the behaviours that can put girls in their communities at risk of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancy.
Although MASYAP has a dedicated youth programme, it is important that the chairladies are involved too, so that we work hand in hand against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
