2017 Women’s Annual General Meeting
Members of MASYAP’s women’s support groups met in Blantyre to share their experiences of home-based care, positive living and HIV prevention.
The 2017 Women’s Annual General Meeting took place on 7 October 2017 at the IQRA Propagation Centre in Blantyre.
The guest speaker, Jebu Osman, chairlady of the Naperi women’s support groups, spoke about positive living as a key part of sticking to treatment, and encouraged members to get tested and to be open about their HIV status.
Sharing experience
Members shared their experiences, as groups and as individuals, of home-based care in their communities. They discussed the challenges they face and possible solutions, and advised each other on caring for people with HIV/AIDS, positive living for those who are infected, and ways of preventing HIV.
Women’s Support Groups Coordinator Lennie Kachingwe outlined MASYAP’s aims and objectives, and the Programmes Manager thanked members for their work and encouraged them to stay active in their communities.
