New borehole brings clean water to 400 people in Patsani, Lunzu

Thanks to the Muslim World League, Patsani village in Lunzu now has a borehole serving more than 400 people from the village and surrounding villages.

Before, villagers had to walk long distances to fetch water, which was especially hard for elderly people. The borehole was placed near the home of an elderly woman who had struggled to reach water.

What the borehole brings

• Better health and hygiene through safe drinking water
• Protection from waterborne diseases such as cholera
• Less work for the women and children who usually fetch water

At the opening, the village chief praised the project and urged everyone to look after the water source, for example by not washing clothes or dishes near the borehole.
