Business training for members with Opportunity Bank (OIBM)
MASYAP and Opportunity International Bank of Malawi trained women in every support group area to manage their businesses and finances.
The Transformation Department of Opportunity International Bank of Malawi (OIBM), working with MASYAP, ran business training in every area where MASYAP works. The aim was to help women manage their businesses and finances well, and every support group had the opportunity to take part.
OIBM Transformation Officer Mrs Chinseu was very pleased with the turnout and encouraged the women to build a habit of saving and investing rather than relying on loans for their businesses.
Two phases
- May 2017: all MASYAP support groups received the first phase of training.
- September–October 2017: the second phase covered saving and investment, followed by sessions on budgeting.
